Custom builds
The standard Serverpacemaker does one thing: it restarts systemd services on Ubuntu. That's it.
What the standard tool covers
Before requesting a custom build, check that the standard binary doesn't already do what you need. It supports:
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and 24.04 LTS
- systemd services (nginx, php-fpm, redis, database, firewall, etc.)
- Interval-based checks (default 60 seconds)
- Automatic restart with verification
- Read-only localhost status page
- Log file with rotation
- Pre-install baseline and comparison
- Interactive pause system (5m / 15m / 1h / 2h)
If your setup matches all of the above, the standard binary is what you want.
What we can build for you
If you need something the standard binary doesn't do, we can build a custom version. Here are examples of things we've been asked about or can deliver:
Other Linux distributions
Debian 12, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Fedora, Arch. Same behavior, compiled for a different systemd environment.
Docker container support
Watch containers instead of (or alongside) systemd services. Restart exited containers via docker restart.
ARM64 and other architectures
Builds for ARM64, ARMv7, and RISC-V. Useful for edge servers and Raspberry Pi deployments.
Custom health checks
Not just "is the process running?" but "is it actually responding?" HTTP checks, TCP checks, or a custom command.
Integration with your monitoring
Send restart events to Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or any endpoint. We don't build dashboards, we send you data.
Dependency-aware restarts
Restart services in a specific order. If nginx depends on php-fpm, ensure php-fpm is up first.
If you don't see your case, describe it in an email. If we can do it, we'll quote it. If we can't, we'll say so.
How pricing works
Custom work is priced per project. There are three common shapes:

We don't do hourly billing. We don't do retainers. We quote a fixed price for a fixed scope. If the scope changes, we re-quote.
How to inquire
Send an email to hello@serverpacemaker.com with the subject line Custom build inquiry.
Include:
- Your operating system and version
- What you want to monitor (services, containers, something else)
- What "restart" means in your case (systemctl restart, docker restart, run a script, etc.)
- Any constraints (must fit within X MB, must work without internet, etc.)
- Your timeline
We'll reply within two business days with a scope, a price, and a delivery date. If we can't do it, we'll tell you that too.
What we don't do
- No sales calls. We do everything by email. If you need a call, we're probably not the right fit.
- No enterprise contracts. No MSAs, no procurement processes, no vendor onboarding portals.
- No support retainers. You buy the binary, you own it. If you need support, we quote it per incident.
- No custom monitoring platforms. We build pacemakers, not dashboards. If you want a full observability stack, we're not the right tool.
- No cloud-hosted versions. Everything we build runs on your server, under your control.
